Bio

Kalandra Alherimi is a photographer from Barberton, Ohio. She recently completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography through the University of Akron’s Mary Schiller Myers School of Art. Kalandra’s artwork focuses on architecture, candid, and still-life photography that shows the uniqueness of the small businesses of her hometown. Kalandra is also a freelance portrait photographer.

While studying for her BFA, Kalandra photographed landscapes, senior portraits, family photos, and photos of her childhood summer camp. During her time in school, Kalandra earned the Mervyn F. Danison Scholarship in 2022. She participated in the Myers Studio Forum: Pop-up Book Exhibition in 2021 and the 85th Annual Juried Student Exhibition in 2021. She became a member of the National Society of Leadership & Success in May 2016. She also earned spots on the University’s Dean’s List in 2015, 2019, and 2021 and President’s List in 2020.

In the past, Kalandra has worked for Girl Scouts of North East Ohio’s Camp Ledgewood as a Unit Counselor, a Unit Leader, a Program Director, a Camp-At-Home Counselor, and the Assistant Day Camp. Kalandra has also worked at Sanctuary Health Network as a Hospitality Aide and Kitchen Aide. Currently, she is the Assistant Resident Camp Director for Girl Scouts of North East Ohio’s Camp Ledgewood.

Kalandra enjoys camping, new adventures, music, movies, traveling, spending time with her family and friends, and spending time outdoors. Her favorite things to photograph are landscapes, architecture, portraits, and anything that has to do with nature. When Kalandra finishes school, she hopes to open a photo studio and help others capture their most precious memories.
